Know Issues
1. I get some blank rows without a result, even after waiting a few minutes. The request failed and you need to retry it by cutting and pasting the keyword in the cell again. Alternatively select “Reset” and “Run” again to re-scan all keywords. In addition you can also look at using the new RankTank Google Sheet Add-on with automated intelligent retries.
2. I am getting no results or not ranked for all keywords. Make sure you’re online, not blocking any sheet permission and that you’re only using your desired domains TLD e.g. domain.com and not http(s)://domain.com/page.html etc.
WIP: How does local results affect rankings?
The beta version of the local result keyword position rank checker tool allows you to set your region, language and local area (city, airport, municipality etc.). Importantly you can now pull all of the Google SERP local keyword rankings. We use the “uule” parameter or “near” parameter in order to filter by locale.

In conclusion the local search rankings tool is a complex work in progress, hence the beta tag. In short we use the Google Adwords location information to generate local search results based on the “uule” parameter. Most importantly this is the same parameter Google uses in it’s own SERPs. Should it not be possible to calculate the “uule” parameter we fall back to using the more general “near” parameter in order to filter the results.

Hi Mandy, this sheet supports 100 keywords per domain, but you can do unlimited checks on demand, there is no limit per month on the $10 subscription.

On my file, I get the “Upgrade to RankTank Basic -> $10/domain/month” message however this is the first time in several days I am using one of RankTank tools and I only had 70 keywords to fetch.
This means I shouldn’t have hit the daily limit you mention on your membership page : “From 1 July 2019 any RankTank free user running more than 1000 queries per domain
per dayper month will be rate limited and asked to upgrade to either of the two RankTank paid options below (…)”Why do I get this message ? Could you explain ?

Hi Julie, your usage was detected heavy enough to validate the upgrade notice by our API, this notice does not clear unless you upgrade. As a once-off courtesy I have cleared it for you, but to avoid it in future please do consider upgrading as crawling does have inherit costs attached to it.

If you’re receiving “No response” then your usage is too heavy for the free service and you can contact me to upgrade to a paid package to lift the restriction. Alternatively check your upgrade options here: https://www.ranktank.org/upgrade/

If you’re getting “No response”, assume you’re hitting some limit and consider RankTank Pro or try again later. You can contact me if you’re unsure, just include your domain (the one you’re checking rankings for…). 🙂
It sucks :-/ There is always “no answer”. It’s no longer useful.
What domain are you checking? (You’re probably blocked, I’d recommend paying to use RankTank Pro if that’s the case :)).
I used the sheet for up to two years for the domain verbformen.de about twice a week for 100 keywords. I don’t need more, so the pro-sheet is oversized.
SEMrush has provided RankTank users a special SEMrush PRO subscription with an additional 500 keywords to track keyword position (value of $159.95) for a total of only $99.95 (valid until end of June 2019). This can be a great alternative while we working on a fix for the free keyword position tool sheet.
The RankTank Pro sheet still works and you’re welcome to also upgrade to RankTank Pro and access the other amazing PRO tools. 😛
Jaco, thank you for your all effort fixing the issue and getting us awesome tool such a this. I am waiting for a new version about 2 months but what a pity 20. version is still giving error as “No Response”.
Please do not abuse the free tool, if you’re getting no response please make a new copy of the sheet as I now log usage.
We are aware of the issue with the sheet being blocked by some recent Google changes. We are working on a fix and should be able to provide feedback shortly.
