  1. Hi Guys, version 6 of the unlinked brand mentions finder should be working much better. The #REF error is due to Google blocking the request. To get by this you can change the amount of results from 50 to 100 to 150 and vice versa, this will recrawl. Let me know if this is working better than before.

  2. Hey, as some other users have commented, it looks like the tool is not working. I get a #REF error when I try.

If anyone has any solution for this I’d be really thankful.

  3. Hi, the tool worked the first time I opened it. After that, I keep getting #REF! in the results.
Also when I make a new copy from you’r original document, without changing anything.
I really think this tool is great when it works, so I hope you have a solution.
Already subscribed to you’r newsletter, in case you have to send a new upgrade.

    Thanks already,

    • This does happen occasionally, still not sure why, but we’ll keep monitoring. Best is to try again later and let me know if this is still an issue?

      • Sorry, but I’m trying again after a long holiday and stil receiving the same error. Maybe there is an other problem?

  4. Hello. Could you please help me? It looks like formula is not working.
    I have changed B3 to
    and B4 to
    travel planet -site:travelplanet.lt -site:travelplanet.pl -site:travelplanet.de -site:youtube.com
    It shows in A10:
SyntaxError: Unexpected token: u (line 6).

Where is the issue? please help πŸ™‚

  5. Hi RankTank. First of all great tool. I tried for a few days but after sometimes I am getting an #errors!. Could you please throw some light on it? Looking forward for some more exciting tool as well.

  6. Hi Guys, I’ve update the free brand unlinked mentions finder to version 3.0. This fixes the error you have been experiencing (Google blocking automated searches). The tool now pulls the top 100 results by default and follows each to check for a backlink or possible opportunity (lack thereof).

  7. Hi Guys, Google has blocked search requests from sheets, which is causing this sheet to not work anymore, at least sometimes. Currently looking for a workaround :).

  8. Hi Sean,

Is this still working? Have been trying for the past few weeks and no results will load. No sure if this helps, but I’m getting this message in cell D25:

Could not fetch url: http://www.google.com/search?num=100&q=mantelligence -site:mantelligene.com&start=0

Would really appreciate any help or a tool you recommend instead. This has been SUPER helpful for building my site’s authority!

  9. Hey Sean,

Awesome tool! Noticing the same issue as others above though – the doc processed my query once but not any other time. What am I doing wrong?

  10. Hi Sean,

Found out the problem was due to the captcha from Google. I was playing too much with all your ranktank stuff I guess πŸ™‚ but there’s no fallback in this google doc for captcha (and also no option to pick a google domain, that would be awesome too).

  11. I was using this to great success but now it’s not working for the projects I was using it with.

Is there a tutorial to rebuild it?

  12. Hey there, I inputted my info but nothing happened. I also tried the info already populated but nothing happened as well. What do I need to press to
    make it execute?

    • I’m having the same issue. I’ve been trying to use it for a few days now and still cant get it to work. Is there a bug?

    • I’m seeing the same exact issue. Made my own copy, changed out root domain and search query, but the tool isn’t processing.

      • Hey Sean, really awesome tool – thanks for building this. However, I’m seeing the same exact issue. It processed once for me, but then I tried processing again for a different query and nothing is showing. Did you discover the problem? If so, how can I get it to work?

    • I’m having the same issue. I even tried the example used in the video, and am getting no response. Nothing is happening. Was a solution for this ever found?

  13. Hi Sean,
When I first open the sheet it works and I see all the mentions appear in red but before any of them really have a chance to turn green they just disappear. Refreshing the page or changing any of the site or query info does nothing. Any Idea why?

  14. This is a really cool tool, but my spreadsheet didn’t seem to work properly. I get the following error message:

Error: Could not fetch url: http://www.google.com/search?num=100&q=“massage”&start=0

Is there something I am doing wrong? I input the domain url without the “www.” and then input a search term, but it doesn’t run. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  15. Excellent tool, thanks! This really helps with link outreach and rep management tasks. Looking forward to seeing what else you come up with. πŸ™‚
